termcraft¶
termcraft is a terminal-first 2D sandbox game written in Rust. The target feel is a classic early-2012 survival progression: survive the first night, mine ore, smelt gear, enter the Nether, find the stronghold, and beat the dragon.
Version:
0.1.0Status: early alpha. The game is playable today, but some behavior is still rough, incomplete, or buggy.

What The Current Build Supports¶
- local single-player survival as the main supported way to play
- procedural Overworld, Nether, and End generation
- mining, placing, inventory, crafting, furnaces, brewing, boats, and storage
- health, hunger, combat, weather, fluids, crops, farming, and progression through the dragon fight
- broad hostile/passive mob coverage plus villages, dungeons, strongholds, and Nether fortresses
What To Expect In This Build¶
- This is still an early alpha.
- The game is substantial and playable, but not polished to full parity.
- Networking exists in the repo, but it is still experimental and should not be the headline feature.
Public Positioning¶
If you describe the project publicly, keep it accurate:
- terminal-first 2D sandbox survival in Rust
- early alpha
- local single-player first
- broad content surface, but not full parity
